The Baltic Times reported that the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania proposed in mid-June to expand the vaccinations for tourists who will be staying in Lithuania for more than one week and for Lithuanian citizens who live overseas to back to home. Vincas Jurgutis, Deputy Minister of Economy of Lithuania, stated that this motion aims to ensure that people in Lithuania can have a certain degree of immunity in order to control the local pandemic. In particular, European countries are currently in the stage of gradually loosening restrictions, and it is expected that more people will enter the country in the future. However, Yurgut is also emphasized that the focus of this case is not to develop vaccine tourism, but to provide opportunities for those who stay in Lithuania and want to be vaccinated.
