How can I increase my water pressure at home?

1. Test the pressure yourself.

You can check the water pressure by using a water pressure test gauge with a hose connection. Simply screw the device onto a hose faucet and turn on the tap, having first made sure that the rest of your home’s faucets and any water-using appliances (for example, the dishwasher and washing machine) are turned off.

The gauge should read between 40 and 60 psi when you open the bib’s valve. After you have either ruled out or confirmed a citywide pressure problem, you can decide which steps to take next. When the reading is below 40 psi, it means that the water pressure in the house is low.

2. Adjust the Pressure-Reducing Valve.

Your house has a main water valve, which is located near the water meter; look for a conical-shaped valve next to the water meter, close to where the main water pipe enters the house. It controls the flow of water into your home’s pipes.

A quick and easy way to increase water pressure is to adjust the pressure-reducing valve. Look on the main supply pipe near your water meter for a conical valve that has a bolt sticking out of the cone. To raise pressure, loosen the bolt’s locking nut, then turn the bolt clockwise. Use the pressure gauge to determine when you reach the proper water pressure, then tighten the locknut to secure the valve.

If that adjustment doesn’t help, then the municipal pressure itself may be inadequate. Start by talking to your neighbors. If their pressure is good, then call the water company to check the shutoff valve out by the street.

3. Install A Water Pressure Booster

If the city is delivering water at low pressure and it’s unlikely that they’ll remedy the problem right away or your household water supply is forced to travel uphill or over a great distance from the municipal water source, its pressure may be hindered. It may turn out that the problem isn’t you, you might consider having a water pressure booster installed.

Gravity and distance are two main factors that negatively impact water pressure. To increase the flow rate of the water when it reaches your home, consider installing a water pressure booster pump. A water-pressure booster consists of an electric pump that feeds water to a tank that keeps the water at the desired pressure.

Using a pressure tank and an electric pump, the pressure booster will use water coming from the city's supply line and deliver it to your home at increased pressure. You can easily adjust the pressure using the dial on top of the booster. Water pressure of 45-55 psi is ideal as anything lower could be a test of patience and high pressure could damage your pipes and fixtures.

Water pressure booster cooperate with pressure tank to use, the effect is better.

The advantages of pressure barrels are as follows: Maintain the water pressure at a constant level, stop water pump from turning on and off regularly, extend the life of water booster pumps, ensure accurate pressure of water.
